Governor Vendola, during the last meeting with some environmentalists opposed to the securing of the SS 275, stated that the Regional Council supports the doubling of "4-lane" to Gagliano del Capo (5 miles from Leuca), as established by regional decree No. 965 of 2007 .
In contrast, those environmentalists have stressed their strong hostility to the doubling of the last 21 km, considered sufficient for enlargement up to Montesano, to safeguard, according to them, the archaeological sites of the Crypt of St. Eufemia and Tricase Macurano (which in reality are still far from the new path).
The two parties have talked about two very different roads. Both, however, the microphones and the press continue again and again, like a broken record, talking to an unspecified road-park!
